The Port of Huelva consolidates its position as a logistics centre of reference for the agriculture sector

Last Friday, the Port of Huelva attended the event of the Andalusian Commodity Exchange. During the meeting, held in Seville, numerous commercial meetings were arranged with importing and exporting companies of agricultural products, such as cereals and vegetable oils. With regard to this sector, the potential of the Port of Huelva as a benchmark agri-food logistics centre for southwest Europe was highlighted.

In line with this aspect, the president of the Port of Huelva, Pilar Miranda, stressed the great effort being made “to promote the movement of solid bulk and increase imports and exports of cereals and other raw materials from the Ingeniero Juan Gonzalo and Ciudad de Palos Wharfs”.

At this important meeting of the agri-food sector were present the Head of the Business and Commercial Development Department and Head of the Technical Office of HuelvaPort, Jaime Beltrán, the head of the Commercial Division of the Port of Huelva, Ignacio Hernani, as well as representatives of companies from the port community such as Algeposa.

During the event, the current situation of the agricultural markets was analysed in depth with a view to the coming years in the new global context of agri-food logistics.
