They maintain an intense commercial activity with companies interested in developing new business plans in the port of Huelva.

Huelva, December 21, 2021. The Port Authority of Huelva together with the companies of the port community, grouped in the Association for the Commercial Promotion of the Port of Huelva (HuelvaPort), have agreed to continue working to strengthen alliances and generate synergies in order to enhance the positioning of the Port of Huelva in the markets.

This year they have participated in more than twenty commercial events, related to different areas of activity, in order to continue positioning the Port of Huelva as an international benchmark in the movement of solid and liquid bulk cargo, as well as to strengthen its position in the logistics chain of general, conventional, containerized and roll-on/roll-off cargo and to grow in the luxury cruise segment. All this, despite the limitations of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Likewise, intense commercial activity has also been maintained through meetings with companies interested in developing new business plans in the Port of Huelva or those interested in forming part of HuelvaPort.

This was made clear during yesterday’s end-of-year board meeting open to all members, chaired by Antonio Ponce, president of HuelvaPort, which was attended by the president of the Port of Huelva, Pilar Miranda, during the opening of the session, who thanked the companies of the port community for the work they do, generating wealth and employment in Huelva, as well as their union around the Port of Huelva to offer markets a comprehensive range of joint services, which strengthens the positioning of the port of Huelva in the global logistics chain.

Likewise, Pilar Miranda has informed the companies of the port community of the various growth and investment projects being carried out by the Port of Huelva, such as the Logistics Activities Zone, the remodeling of the entire port front from Avenida Francisco Montenegro to the North Levante Quay where the fish market is located and the first Fiware technological innovation node of a global port nature will be launched, as well as the Seafood City and the shipyard project in the vicinity.

The president of the Port of Huelva has also opted for the improvement of infrastructure and communications of the province with the rest of the Peninsula to promote the development of new investments, demands that have also been shared by the president of HuelvaPort.

Antonio Ponce thanked the Port Authority of Huelva for its support to the port community, which is made up of a strong and competitive productive fabric around industrial, energy, mining, solid bulk logistics, maritime services, engineering, road transport and auxiliary services, among others. Likewise, Antonio Ponce has advanced that HuelvaPort will carry out a work of rapprochement to the associates, as stated in the Action Plan of Huelvaport 2022, to respond to the interests of the companies of the port community.

During this meeting, the great professional work carried out by the former head of the HuelvaPort Technical Commercial Office, Manuel Vega, who has not been with us for a year, was recalled.
