The project Luz, that it start this month, it will produce around 500 new jobs during the construction and 20 jobs in operations.

Huelva will have eight new photovoltaic plants provides by  Alter Enersun, one of the leaders of the renewable energy sector. The photovoltaic (LUZ I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII) will be located  in the Paraje La Carrascosa after the governing Board of the Huelva City Council approved the project, that will  be operating until 2024. This means  generating a capacity of 262 MWp and an estimated production of 537 GWh per year, is equivalent to the energy consumed by 154,000 homes.

LUZ I is the first of the eight plants, whose works will start this March, with  the forecast of putting it into operation at the end of this year. It is a photovoltaic plant that will have the capacity of 62 MWp and an estimated production of 127 GWh per year.

Luz involves an investment of 160 million euros and will created between 450 and 500 jobs during its construction , plus 20 jobs in operation. In addition, a total of 507,000 tons of CO2 savings will be achieved each year, compared to conventional coal.

Alter Enersun´s activity began in 2015 with the development of the photovoltaic plants, Huelva 2020, and Huelva 2021, which culminated in their construction between 2017 and 2020. They were the largest photovoltaic plants in Huelva, two plants that produce the equivalent energy for the consumption of the entire population of the municipality.
